Cardigan Makeover Free People Style

kimi encarnacion california pixie peruvian sweater cardy cardigan remake DIY

Free People make some great sweaters.  Right now they have this awesome ethnic cardigan with pom pom ties. How convenient that I had this fuzzy peruvian pullover in the closet that I never wear.  You might remember I have a thing against pullover sweaters.  They rip the bobbypins out of my hair and give me sausage body (the main reason). I pictured what this cardigan makeover could look like.  Like most things I do, I got right to work without much thought.  I cut it and finished it while watching Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows. Cool movie, btw, but then I’m a sucker for Johnny and Helena.  And pom poms???  YES!!

I know I say everything is easy, but this is really one of the easiest projects I’ve ever done. DEF my easiest cardigan enhancement and I must admit, I’ve done a few!  Shhh…don’t tell anybody!

You can pretty much figure out how to do anything on the internet these days.  Like how to make the pom poms or do a finishing stitch.  I used yarn and a big fat needle for that.  If you need help or have questions…as always write to me.  I dig giving solicited advice!  :) Have a great day!!! kimi

  4. Love how this has ended up. I have been trying to re-use / up-cycle my never worn clothing but keep grinding to a halt. Think I need to take a leaf out of your book and not think too much before I start…it definitely yields results.
