Weekend adventure – Revolving sushi, Domo and a surprise

We went to Diamond Jamboree in Irvine. A friend told me about it and said I had to check it out. I couldn’t help but snap away at all the cuteness. Like Domo! I’ve kept a loving eye on the Domo craze, I dig the simple design.  Any amount of Japanese stuff all in one place brings a little impromptu happiness to the table. And, revolving sushi? It placates the impatient soul.  The food comes around on a conveyor belt on little plates one serving at a time. They charge you per plate and there can be stacks by the time you’re done living it up.  It’s not always the best sushi, but it’s good, easy and fun! And for the surprise, a statue! She’s the greeter at a ramen house and looks like Bob’s little sister! Love these things! I need a big rooster for the living room!

  1. Oh dayum!!! My friends just moved down south, I’m going to forward them this post! They’ve got to go to this Japanese Wonderland! Have you ever been to YumeYa in Leucadia??? One of my top five fave Japanese restaurants. Dreamy… Thanks for sharing!!!

    • OH…if beanie balls are the little roundy guys on key chains, then yes!!! Man, they’re cute!!!!! Everything in that store was cute. We might have to take a little trip to the revolving shushi and sticki picki (where the bally guys are) after!

    • No…I’ll look it up!!! We have a local place we eat at almost every friday. I love the stuff! Right now I’m sorta stuck on a baked scallop roll…..ya baby!!! k.

      • Baked scallop is my FAVORITE!!! No joke! And it’s weird, but some sushi places don’t do it as a standard…I think a sushi meet-up should be on the horizon! :)

      • Do it!!! I need to head north some time! I’m always in the mood for a sushi meet up!!!!! kimi.
