Shine on, early bird
Up until now my ideal clock was to stay up til midnight and wake up at 9. The problem with that is I’ve always admired the life of a morning person. Especially the kind that can stay up really late and still rise by 6. Maybe that’s why I set California Pixie to deliver my posts at 3:33am. It’s a little half baked willful expression of hope. Well…things have changed! In support of others, I’m now up at the crack every morning. I’m converted! I’ve seen the sun rise more in the last 3 weeks than in my entire life. I’m totally beat by 8:30pm now which is a huge blow to my former rock n roll self but I am definitely converted. Today I couldn’t help it, with camera in hand, I ventured out. The light is delicate and the world is alive….who knew??

Look at that light!! I know this sounds crazy to some of you that have already discovered the secret, but this is soo cool!

Did you ever lay down on a sofa with your head hanging off the edge and take a long look around the upside down room as a kid? It’s one of those simple pleasures you usually don’t tell anybody about. Kind of insignificant but an experience even tho? Running around the inside of a big empty pool is kind of the same sensation.

At yoga this week my teacher shared a quote that I loved! “The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your destiny. ” –Albert Ellis
So, more power to ya! I’m leaving you with The Kooks. This song isn’t new, you’ve probably all heard it but I haven’t got enough of it yet. It plays on a lot of my morning walks to the beach and back and it’s also one that I like to sing with Jay on guitar. I thought of it as soon as I finished writing this post. Shine on! kimi.

love this post and I really enjoy reading your blog :)
Ohhh…thanks!!! k.
Great pics!
Congrats on your conversion to a morning person! I’ve managed to do it out of necessity in the past, and fear I’ll have to do the same soon once I start working like a normal person again. Sigh…
Also, I love that quote.
