Edward Sharpe and being 104

My great-uncle Lloyd Hunsaker died this week.  He was 104 years old. His secret was to keep moving, working. He was a real do-it-yourself-er! When I saw him in November I asked if he was still getting up at 5am to do his yardwork.  He said, “well, of course!” His obituary reads like it happened over 2 lifetimes! He’s the last of that generation. My mom was so sad, Uncle Lloyd represented an era that helped shape her.  People that loved her as a kid and seemed like they’d always be there. I am lucky to still have my grandma (featured here). I don’t care if I live to be over 100, I just want all my days to count.  I want to feel good and be good!

It’s like summer outside, gorgeous! On my beach walk today I listened to the new Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Man, they’ve done it again. LOVE the song Man on Fire! Music is really a gift, isn’t it? So go, have a GREAT weekend, feel good and be good! Thanks for stopping by!  kimi.

  2. My honey introduced them to me last year when we went to see them in SLC. My favorite song is “home” , my kids know all the words :)

  3. Just yesterday Gray commented that he wished he’d just spent the day at the beach and was sitting on your deck eating “kimi noodles”!

  4. I miss early morning beach walks- it’s an amazing way to start the day, isn’t it? Your great-uncle sounds like he was a gem- what a blessing to have had him in your life!
